It's Tinsel Time

Friday Night: Biggest full moon of the year. I hope you didn't miss it because my camera phone did the best it could which wasn't very good at all. I never once worried about Werepires while I was moon gazing. I don't think they even wake up until 10pm. I took this shot at 7pm so I guess I was safe.

Saturday Afternoon: Today, I should've been putting up the tree (Because you know I didn't put it up last night. There was too much moon to concentrate...)but I didn't. I went to Goodwill and I bought this painting. She has a bit of a stubby hand lying on the table but her bun, blue dress and school marmishness far outweigh her limitations. The children immediately loved her. They called her "The Mommy" and requested I take their picture with her. So, I, um....you know...just propped her in a chair and told them to climb up. Like sitting on Santa's lap but...well, it's a little different. Sam was telling Zoe to "look like The Mommy" and striking his own prudish pose. Zoe cheesed it up as usual.

Saturday Evening: Then it was time to get dressed for the party. I wore this. What? Too flashy? Well, I happen to like it. It's glittery. Lots of glittery goodness. But to tell you the truth, the glitter shed everywhere. I felt like a holiday fairy spreading Kmart Christmas cheery dust.

Late Saturday Night: I didn't get any pictures before people started eating my creations. I left the trees at the thing but I brought my penguins home. They looked like they'd suffered through a freak North Pole tornado by the time I took this.

Sunday Morning: The Mommy meets Captain Kirk's table.

Sunday Evening: Surprise!

Late Sunday Night: I need to wrap the presents. The Mommy says it looks bare from where she's hanging.

If you're wondering, I asked Joe to drive us this weekend. All the mailboxes we know breathed a sigh of relief.

I love this whole post too much to say anything that does it justice. i mean, the mommy? and the red glowy tree? and the glitter? and the bashed out igloo? and the mommy w/ capt. kirk table? and the cute kids? and...it's too much for me. Itch-worthy to the old arms.

Well done!

I'm sure the Mommy portrait looked upon your sparkle frock, your sparkle (magic) tree, and your cheese ball with interest and approval.
No doubt she will be an excellent biographer for the events at Captain Kirk's table.

... is that a flocked tree? Or an artificial tree? One year I LONGED for a flocked tree and got one ... so messy. But it sure was pretty.

Oh! I love the tree! That's a great picture of the kids with the painting.
The olive penguins look really cool too.

Magnetic fields? Mmm... that sounds.
