Wrasslin'

As I was saying, we decided to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary by signing me up to participate in a MILF arm wrestling competition. Uh, yeah. I thought you'd like that. The "Championship Belt" is pictured above.

The trophy below is for the costume contest. I decided not to dress up this year but Moms in costume, arm wrestling for charity? How could you go wrong with such entertainment?

I'll won't keep you in suspense. I'll go ahead and tell you. I lost straight off in the first round.

I'll just quote Joe's FB update from the next day:
"Well, it looks like my wife will have to continue her nursing career. Her dream of becoming a world class female arm wrestler came crashing down with a first round loss in the MILF Arm Wrestling Competition held last Saturday night at the [deleted]. She did, however, put up a valiant fight. I think I took the loss harder than she did.  I can't say for sure if her opponent was actually female. It's debatable. But just wait until next year. She's gonna kick a$$ and take names."

My good friend, Leah, went up against her the next round. She looked like the kind of woman you wouldn't want to be incarcerated with. I only say "looked" because I do not know her as a person, just as someone who winked at me before she laid my hopes to rest. Leah didn't make it out the other side either.

Here's another friend trying to intimidate the competition.

The crowd REALLY got into it.

At evening's end, I did not have a belt or trophy.

I DID get to sign the table and have a lot of fun.

Neither Snow Nor Rain Nor Heat Nor Gloom Of Night...

...could get my window back up after the switch broke over a month ago.

We were low on money so I consulted my guru and watched some men on YouTube replace their switches. Seemed simple enough so I ordered the switch for 50 bucks. We were forced to battle the elements until the part came in.

It was delivered in a box that seemed much too large but I was delighted to find the correct part AND see I wouldn't have to remove the switch from the little panel. It all came together!

I unplugged those wires, plugged em back into the new switch and dropped the panel in the door. It was the proudest I've been of myself in quite awhile.

And VOILA! Just like new! (Don't worry. I replaced the panel fully and screwed into place after I tested the window. I thought that would be smarter and you know how I'm into smarts.) My life will never be the same. This is big, people!

The kids weren't very impressed but they are happy they don't have to ride to school like this anymore.

And yes, we do love a nice velour and sateen finish blanket. Thank you very much.
