Plans, Plans & More Plans

Joe and I have been invited by friends to spend the first weekend in October at a cabin at Tallulah Gorge. Our friends are planning to kayak at a dam water release in North Carolina on the Cheoah river. I procured a canoe, for Joe and I to paddle around in at the cabin, from a teacher at school. As it turns out, Hunters For Christ, an organization made up of people recovering from drug and alcohol abuse, borrowed it just before us. They take disabled people and disadvantaged children on hunting/canoeing trips and they have guns.

Yes. Yes, they have guns and the Lord on their side. So now I'm presented with the daunting task of washing off both the blood of Jesus and the blood of furry woodland creatures.

The following week, Joe will be attending a designer's conference in Las Vegas. He swears that spouses are not allowed to come along. Likely story, I say! Seriously, I'm happy he has the opportunity and I plan to indulge in a girl's night out while the cat's away.

We have tickets to 'Day Out With Thomas' in Cordele, Georgia, the last weekend in October. It's our gift to Sam for his birthday in November. Last year, due to financial woes, our plans fell through. This year I made it a priority. Little boys love trains and he'll be four years old in November; I think it will be the perfect age to go see Thomas!

We've also been invited to another Halloween costume party this year. That should be fun and we still have our plug and outlet costumes. I'll paint on some of Leah's aqua glitter and electrify my hair while Joe loosens up his hips and we should be good to go.

I'm aquiver with autumnal anticipation even now.
