I was discussing my Easter plans with Melody this morning. I told her we had BIG plans for this Saturday. We're going to an egg hunt that afternoon then to Joe's Mom's for a big dinner and egg hunt that evening. I was just about to tell Mel all about the potato salad I was making when she said, "But, yeah...um, what about our tickets? You know, that's the night we go see The Flight Of The Concords at The Fox. You remembered, right?"
I responded by saying lots of bad words.
No. No. No.
I did not remember. Not at all. I mean, I knew the show was on the 11th and I've been REALLY looking forward to it because I don't get out much. Maybe this is why? Maybe I'm unable to handle too much excitement? Or remember it afterwards? Why is it that some things are burned into the corners of my brain, never ever to be forgotten? Whereas the transient stuff, the appointments and deadlines and such, is not?
Oopsie.
Fortunately, Melody is level headed and practical. She reminded me of my promise to "do dinner" and offered to just come over to the family function, take some Easter photos, eat some grub and we would leave from there. The show doesn't start until 8 pm after all. She's smart like that. She's like a superhero who saved the day from me, the amnesiac.
*Note: I blame that dang calendar Miss Smith sent to me from New Zealand. It told me Easter is on a Monday! That's what I get for not heeding her warning. She told me it would be topsy turvy for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. But I didn't listen. I was too busy forgetting something else.*

I am glad you found a way to work it all out. I am always double booking myself. Yikes.
I having been meaning to mention that picture of your kiddos doing what appears to be the chicken dance. I love it. They always seem to be dancing to the song of the moment.
Its 'cause she was jealous about the concert! She said, "wa-ha-ha! I'll confuse her with a calendar. That'll learn her."
I'm enjoying these eels. No, I'm not eating them, I'm LISTENING to them. But, I do believe that I could eat eels today.
Well, I did buy the tickets nearly three months ago, so there's your excuse.
Good thing I remembered.
Kim - They are extremely fancy dancers. I have no idea where they picked it up. I'm a terrible dancer and Joe is just better than me.
Christy - Mel just turned me onto the Eels with her "I like birds" comment. I did have Souljacker pt.1 on a mix tape but never knew who or what it was.
Mel- Three months IS a long time.
I mostly forget sll my medically-related appointments.
I mostly forget everything. Especially if I write it in my planner.
This morning I remembered to go to something I wasn't invited to.
It's hopeless, I tell you.
