When I lay my vengeance upon you...

We had one humdinger of an electrical storm last night. I've lived in this house approximately 25 of my 35 years on Earth and we've had many lightning strikes and resultant fires on our property. I knew what to expect so we huddled on the sofa in the middle of the house and prayed the house didn't burn.

This morning we were able to survey the damage. I wasn't surprised to see the poplar topped. The top fell on the fence, of course. The electricity blew the earth from around the roots at the bottom of the tree and chunks of wood halfway to the mailbox. My parents were beside themselves and made haste calling the insurance lady, fence guy and tree people.

They said, "The Calmpound has been breached! This is unacceptable!" They didn't actually say that but that's what they were thinking. I said, "God is furiously angry with you for stepping on my privacy's toes and he smashed your fence to prove it!" I didn't actually say that but it is what I was thinking.

Seems the irony of the situation was totally lost on them.
Oh well.

We all view the world through our own lens, don't we?
Glad no one was hurt.

That's what happens when they try and keep you from the world.

Ms. Moon - All humans are safe & sound. Our cable, my folks' power transformer & the neighbor's garage door were fried but we're good for now. But I hear some thunder right now...

Mel- Sigh.

Steph- NO! I have to be free! FREE!

Wow. What violence in your weather.

I see the irony.

Glad you got out the other side without bodily harm.
