Down From The Mountain

Friday evening, we arrived in Tallulah Falls and checked into our cabin... We imbibed a great deal of adult beverages while the men cooked our meal on the campfire and I stirred up some pasta salad inside. We had a great time getting to know everyone and finally made it to bed around 2am. The next morning, after Melody and Rick set out for North Carolina, we went over to Mike and Teal's cabin for omelets and pancakes... After breakfast, we took a walk and passed one of the camping areas... ...and a Putt Putt course Joe could not resist... We sat on a swing in the shade for awhile and listened to the water babble... Then we made our way to the main branch of the river... We were soon joined by Mike, Teal, Troy & Meredith. Mike was then attacked by gnats. It was a beautiful day with white fluffy clouds in the sky... We all walked back to the cabin and rested for awhile... I suggested Joe take a picture of the two of us together but at the last minute, I decided to check to see if he was frowning. He was. Around lunchtime, we all headed to Dillard, Georgia to the flea market and Osage's produce farm, where I bought some October beans,Heirloom tomatoes and honey. October beans are SO pretty. I like to think of them as nature's tye-dye and taste very much like pinto beans. They had a great glass display box with honey bees and the little guys were in fact very busy.

We returned to the cabin and the men started the fire and smoked the steak and chicken for our fajitas while we waited for Melody and Rick to return from kayaking on the Cheoah in North Carolina. We ate and then played Cranium until 1am. This is Tyler, Rick's nephew. Be careful ladies...he's only seventeen! Mike and Teal with baby on board. Rick and Melody study their Cranium card closely...

The next day we cleaned up, packed up and the boys tossed around the football before we headed home.

It was such a nice trip to a beautiful place with really fun people, we plan to do it again soon. As a matter of fact, I think I'll call today to make reservations for next month!

The tomato was delicious. I wish I had another right now.

Jesus that looks great. I love being in the woods. I have a spot in one of the country parks round here that I visit to do some solitary musing and meditation. If there was a cabin there too I'd probably never leave.

Hello, look at all the trouble it took to find this beautiful blog...

Up there, there is a picture of bees...looks exactly like the ones I saw in my dream. I hope you can find me through this trail? Have you ever dreamt of bees?

Lets keep the connection...

Best wishes

C.S. Perry told me I should come check out your post. I also just came back from the Tallulah River. How long did it take you to get the smoke smell off? We've never stayed in a cabin, but looks like it was really fun!
