Forgive Me For The Fundraiser Emails
Our PTO is working hard to improve our school's playgrounds. One needs swings and one needs everything! These things are expensive and our school is located in a poor area. There is no sugar coating it. We're hard up for funds AND my kids are desperate to win their internet prize. So, I apologize up front if you receive THAT email from us. Discard it or buy some stuff! Either way is just fine.

Sit Back And Relax
My life has been full and over flowing. The summer has been jam packed with challenges, triumphs and perilous journeys. I have so much to share with you but no desire to make sure it's cohesive. Think of my rapid fire posts as cyber-confetti. More to come. Glitter extra.
Grandpa's not getting older, he's getting finer.
Happy Birthday to the guy responsible for making Joe so good lookin'!
Our niece served up her retro key lime cake roll and I made the raspberry lemon cupcakes.
Cake. It's what's for (birthday) dinner.
Shakin' It Around A Little
Whoah! Hello. It's me!
A crooked, gray-haired woman about to go out for a night on the town.
We went to see our friend's band at a bar housed in an old movie theater downtown. It's a really cool place. We met more friends there for a night of fun fun fun. And mixed drinks. We did not plan to do the shots but we did them nonetheless.
When the pictures started to look like this, I thought it best to go.
We strolled as best we could around the square. Joe insisted we get a picture of the old library so here it is. He said later it did not come near his vision. Whatever. Our camera sucks. What can I say?
Yes. He was as happy as he looks.
Very, very happy indeed.
About as happy as you can get just before you get sad.
Good times. Good times.
Swimmingly
The kids had formal swimming lessons this summer. It's the same pool in which I took MY swimming lessons. Odd how small it seems to me now. While one child was instructed, I would take the other elsewhere. Sam chose to feed the ducks and geese at a pond on the property. Zoe chose to lay around on lounge chairs and eat dum-dums. It all worked out fine.
Little Miss
Well, there's about to be a new baby in town. My friend and business partner is expecting a girl and she thought it would be a good idea to let my 5 yr old help her name this new bundle of joy. The result of that meeting of the minds is: Lula Marigold. I think it certainly has a ring to it.
We held a Reuse-Repurpose-Recycle baby shower a couple of weeks ago. My lovely friend, April, helped with the food. I cannot tell a lie. We were so heavily complimented on our spread, we've considered working on some small catering jobs. We'll see....
The gifts were all used, repurposed or handmade items. She's using cloth diapers this time around and hit the goldmine on those new-fangled wrap around velcro jobbies. They also make nice party hats for grown-ups!
The picture below cracks me up. That doll lay at her feet with it's neck wrenched around for the entire party.
We had a good time.
Best shower I've ever hosted.
Now, I can't wait to love me up some new baby!
